A parent-powered nonprofit forming to fund enrichment programs for every student at Mira Vista K–8 School.
The Mira Vista Foundation is a newly forming parent-run, volunteer-driven nonprofit. We're here to fund enrichment programs that go beyond what the district can provide — and to build a stronger sense of community around our school.
We're inspired by neighboring school foundations like the Madera Elementary Foundation and the Kensington Education Foundation, who have built thriving programs for their school communities right here in West Contra Costa.
We're just getting started — and we'd love for you to help shape what we become.
We raise funds to support programs that enhance the classroom experience, expand access to arts and sciences, and strengthen the community that makes Mira Vista special.
We aim to fund enrichment programs and resources not covered by the district budget. Here's what we have in mind:
Visual arts, music instruction, and creative programs that give every child a way to express themselves.
Hands-on science, technology access, and inquiry-based programs that spark curiosity and critical thinking.
Books, reading support, and a well-stocked library so every student finds stories that speak to them.
School garden programs that connect students with nature, nutrition, and hands-on learning.
Active play, fitness, and wellness programs that support healthy development.
Supplies and materials so teachers can focus on what matters most.
We're just getting off the ground and need parents, community members, and local partners to help us grow.
Whether you have an hour or a dedicated role in mind, we need people who care. Help plan events, run programs, or handle logistics.
We're establishing our nonprofit status. Every future dollar goes directly toward enriching programs for Mira Vista students.
Tell a neighbor, share with your class's parent group, or invite a local business to partner with us. Community starts with connection.
